We’ve been talking a lot about Coronavirus because well, it’s affecting all our lives in so many ways. Including obviously your destination wedding, hometown wedding or semi-destination wedding.
Should we just get married now?
It’s not a bad thought.
In fact, it’s a good idea!
But how do you do it?
Enter virtual weddings! And if you need some convincing, here are 10 reasons why you should consider having a virtual wedding.
10 REASONS WHY A VIRTUAL WEDDING IS A GOOD IDEA
Reason #1 – You can get married now
Perhaps the biggest reason why you should have a virtual wedding is because you can get married now.
You don’t have put your plans on hold and wait until there is a treatment or a vaccine. You don’t have to wait to start your life together. And you don’t have to wait to reap all the benefits of being married.
And I’m not just talking about literal benefits like health insurance (Note: Legal virtual weddings will depend on your state). I’m talking about emotional benefits.
There is something so immensely happy about both getting married and being married. You can have that with a virtual wedding.
Reason #2 – You can celebrate now
A wedding is about more than just getting married. It’s about celebrating that commitment and your love for each other.
And with a virtual wedding you can also celebrate your marriage.
You can eat, drink and be merry. You can have an amazing time with those you love.
And just revel in the joy you feel and this special day.
Reason #3 – It’s safe
The reason you can get married and celebrate now is because with a virtual wedding, you can do it safely.
We can’t have gatherings like weddings right now because that’s how the virus spreads. But with virtual weddings, it’s virtual.
So, you’re safe and you’re able to keep everyone you love safe. And everyone they come into contact with safe as well.
It’s safe for everyone including the community at large and that’s really important right now.
Reason #4 – Everyone can attend
And what that means is that everyone can attend! Your grandparents, parents, friends, and coworkers can all attend.
And for all those guests who wouldn’t have been able to make your original wedding due to a conflict or for personal reasons, they can attend as well.
In addition, because this isn’t a “normal” wedding, your guest list isn’t really linked to your budget. So, you can have a large wedding and invite everyone if that’s what you want.
Everyone you want there can be there. And that’s pretty special.
Reason #5 – It’s real
A virtual wedding is obviously different than a “normal” wedding. But, it’s just as real.
Not just legally (depending on your state), but emotionally. You can experience the day like how you would experience it in any “normal” wedding.
You can feel all those emotions and have a real wedding day. From the moment you wake up till right before you go to sleep.
It is just as real, just as special as any “normal” wedding day.
Reason #6 – It’s unique
Like how a virtual wedding is just as real as a “normal” wedding, it can also be just as unique.
It can still feel like you. It can still share your story, personality and loves.
You can make your virtual wedding yours like how you would with a “normal” wedding.
And let’s not forget that purely by having a virtual wedding, your wedding will already be unique.
Reason #7 – It won’t cost a fortune
A big benefit of a virtual wedding is the cost. Virtual weddings are cost effective and budget friendly especially in relation to what you would normally spend.
Which means you don’t need to spend a ton to create something special.
With all the uncertainty around jobs and employment, it’s understandable if you’re worried about your wedding budget.
But, with a virtual wedding, you don’t have to worry about spending tens of thousands of dollars.
Reason #8 – The gift of joy
Life right now is understandably hard and a bit dreary. But, having a virtual wedding will bring joy to your life.
And to those you love.
Because let’s be honest, there isn’t a whole lot of happy right now. But, celebrating love and a wedding? That’s all kinds of happy!
Having a virtual wedding means you can give that gift of joy to everyone including yourselves.
Reason #9 – You can still have the big party later
And even if you have a virtual wedding, there’s no reason why you can’t also have the big party later.
In fact, you should! Because when we can gather as we used to, what better way to celebrate than with a party?
Having a virtual wedding actually gives you the best of both worlds, a chance to celebrate now and celebrate later.
And let’s not forget that it relieves the pressure on you and your wedding. You don’t have to worry about picking a date (because you’re not rushing), you can wait until things are safe and do it then.
Reason #10 – You don’t have to do it on your own
I’m sure you’ve seen the early stories that came out about Zoom weddings and couples who just didn’t want to wait. While very sweet, it can be a bit of a DIY mess.
But, guess what? Just because you’re having a virtual wedding doesn’t mean you have to cobble it together yourself.
You can have a whole team of pros to help you plan, design and execute it just like any other wedding day.
So you can actually enjoy every moment and experience it as a participant instead of playing all the roles of planner, cake baker, floral designer, DJ and host.
