The 2 Exciting Spring 2020 Wedding Dress Trends You Need to See
My two favorite seasons are spring and fall. They’re the in-between seasons and I love them! Besides the weather being amazing, they come with a feeling of change. Of excitement!
It’s in the air and all around. And it just so happens that bridal fashion week also comes in the spring and fall. And with it, also change and excitement!
The spring 2020 wedding dresses definitely showcased some changes.
The biggest being an overall movement away from strapless dresses! Woo hoo! Here are just a few of my favorites as examples.

Lovely, right?
This has been a long time coming and I’m so happy to see it.
Because come on, how many women look good or naturally gravitate towards a strapless dress? Not many.
So, I am so super thrilled about this shift!
Now, besides the shift away from strapless dresses, I found 2 major (and really exciting) wedding dress trends in the spring 2020 lines.
And before we dive in, I have to say I’m really stoked about both of them!
So, without further ado..
Spring 2020 Wedding Dress Trend #1:
The Super Hero Wedding Dress
Yes, the super hero wedding dress! Now this is totally my term, but that’s exactly what it feels like to me.
These wedding dresses represent a strong woman. Whether it be in the form of a cape, the cut, the attitude or a feel of royalty. There is power behind these designs and I love them.
Who rule the world? Girls.

So, we’re kicking off our super hero wedding dresses with this beauty from Carolina Herrera. It’s pants, which I already love. But, it also has this lace cape/train that I am really loving. It’s feminine, but also bad ass.

Speaking of bad ass, let’s talk about this two piece pants number by Cushnie. The bodice is lovely, but that one arm sleeve! It’s like a super hero cuff. And the cape once again is so bad ass.

Now, this Jenny Packham wedding dress is all about royalty. This cape is regal and with it comes power. Just look at how calm, cool and collected she looks. Classically divine.

This Zuhair Murad wedding dress is a spin on the previous regal look. The patterned dress and cape has got major Spanish vibes going on. And it oozes strength. Can’t you just feel it?

This sheer cape dress by Monique Lhuillier is more ethereal, but still all power. And what I love about it is how it also accents the underlying printed dress as well.

Ok, this one kind of speaks for itself, right? Yes, the fan blowing helps the effect. But the cut, the waistband and the contrast of the bodice and the skirt give me major super hero vibes. This strong Suzanne Neville wedding dress and the lady wearing it is not someone you want to mess with.

Our final super hero look is this structured Danielle Frankel wedding dress. The top and skirt contrast is wonderful. But it’s that open neckline and those sleeves that scream sexy, powerful and unafraid. And come on, she even has a belt.
Spring 2020 Wedding Dress Trend #2:
The Non-Wedding Dress
The second major trend in the bridal fashion week spring 2020 wedding dresses were alternative options. Or non-wedding dress dresses.
With every season we’ve been seeing more and more alternative options, but this season had so many! Everything from pants to two piece outfits, to short dresses and hybrid dresses. We’ve already seen two of them above!
Not everyone wants a “wedding gown”. And I love that bridal designers are creating more and more options for those who are looking for something different.
Something alternative.

Kicking us off is this short lace coat dress by Danielle Frankel. A coat dress! So unexpected and so lovely. It’s got shape, pattern and some spunk.

Speaking of unexpected, this short dress has some got some major fringe! This exciting wedding dress from Oscar de la Renta is full of motion. Which means extra fun on the dance floor!

Tea length wedding dresses don’t always get a lot of love. But I’m really digging this tiered version from Whistles. The pattern, the cutouts and the length are different and whimsical.

Ok, so this wedding dress by Jenny Packham is a little younger in style, but it’s oh so cute! The sweater like top with the feather skirt is party city. And can we talk about those shoes?! TONS of fun.

This laid back Lela Rose is such a fun alternative to the stuffy, big, form fitting wedding dress. It’s cute, it’s got pattern and it’s effortless.

There is so much to love in this Suzanne Neville wedding dress. The length, the white on white applique, the 3/4 sleeve, and the train! It’s got a little super hero in it too!

Our last dress by Sahroo is one of my favorites. The sleek fabric, the square neckline, and the spaghetti straps are all awesome. But the fact that it’s a hybrid dress is the best! Part pants, part dress. Comfortable, casual, modern and so refined.
So those are my picks and the 2 exciting wedding dress trends from the spring 2020 bridal fashion week. And I have to say it again, I love them!
