The joy of me time

I always thought I was an extrovert.  I liked people, I like talking, I was outgoing, so I always thought I was an extrovert.  Only when I became an adult and really learned what the difference was between an extrovert and an introvert did I realize I was actually an introvert.

This was a bit of a revelation to me and once I realized it, the lightbulb went off.  I understood why I get tired at big parties.  And why I don’t love networking events.  It made so much sense that I work better one-on-one than in groups not just with friendships, but in conversations.

I realized I need my space and I like my alone time.   And I’ve come to not only realize I need it but love it.  Alone time is great!  It lets me recharge, unwind and just be. I appreciate moments by myself where you don’t need to talk or worry about anything.  It’s just you.  Which is totally liberating.

Now don’t get me wrong, my husband, family, and friends totally love me for me.  And I love being with them.  But, I do love me time.  It’s wonderful to sit and get lost in a book.  Or go on a walk.  Or if I’m somewhere tropical, lying on the beach or by the pool is like heaven.

So, today is all about you finding your happy place.  What’s one thing you do where it’s just all about you?  Where you can just be and not have to worry about anyone else.  Is that at the spa getting a massage?  Is that in the bath?  Maybe it’s doing yoga or driving in the car.  Find your happy place and then go there.  Take a moment for yourself and then revel in the you time.  Pay attention to you and only you and enjoy that happy feeling.

Tomorrow is our 12th Day of Joy and Christmas Eve!  And we’re going out with a bang so you don’t want to miss it!
