Q: We’ve picked out the dresses and suits for the bridesmaids and groomsmen, so all I have left are the children’s wedding outfits. When do I need take care of that?
Great question! While it’s always good to take care of your wedding attire on the early side if you can, the one exception are the kids. With the children’s wedding attire, you want to save that for later and here’s why: Kids grow! No matter what age your ring bearer and flowers girls are, they’ll get bigger! It doesn’t make any sense to buy something early only for them to not fit it later.
So, instead, you’ll want to purchase the outfits closer to the wedding. You can certainly pick something out ahead of time so that you know what you want. Or you can have the kid’s parents pick something out. But, either way, you won’t want to buy anything until closer to the wedding day. I’d say around 2-3 months before is good.
Now if you aren’t buying the children’s wedding outfits and instead plan on renting them, then that is a different story. You can put in your rental order earlier knowing that they’ll get fitted closer to the wedding day.
Once you’ve figured your plan with the children’s wedding outfits, then all you have to do is remember to take care of it later. And don’t forget about any items for yourselves (or your parents) too!
