Wedding Wednesdays Q&A: How Many Florists Should You Meet With?

Wedding Wednesdays Q&A by Jamie Chang Destination Wedding Planner of Mango Muse Events

Q: I’m starting to look at florists for my wedding and I think I’ve found someone I really like.  Do you think that I’m ok just meeting with her or should I meet with others as well?

There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to how many florists (or vendors) you should meet with.  But, I usually recommend meeting with at least two so that you have a comparison.  It’s nice to sit down with multiple people and see the differences.  And there will be differences, trust me.  You’ll see differences in personality, style, and pricing.

One person may be more friendly.  One person may understand your vision better.  One person may be more willing to help work with your budget. You want to go with the person you feel comfortable with and who gets what you want.  Meeting with more than one person helps you to really see who is the best fit.

Now, of course, you want to meet with two florists you actually like.  So, don’t meet with two just to meet with two.  If you think this florist is the one, go ahead and meet with her.  If it goes well and all is aligned, you don’t have to meet with another.  It’s ok just to go with her, but it has to feel totally right.  So, just make sure you’re feeling good on all fronts with her before you move forward.
