A Unique Las Vegas Wedding Venue – The Neon Museum
Well, hello there! I know we were gone for a couple of weeks, but we’re back! And looking mighty fine if I say so myself. If you haven’t had a chance to check out our new digs (and duds), please take a peek around! But, I know you missed our blog posts, so without further adieu…
I recently came back from Las Vegas for a work conference and while I was there I, of course, had to check out the wedding scene. While Las Vegas is known for its quickie drive-thru weddings, wedding chapels and Elvis officiates, there are definitely couples who want a Las Vegas destination wedding. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re a gambler or just love the glitz and glam, it could be perfect for you. And you can’t deny that Las Vegas is an exciting place.
While you could certainly get married at a hotel (and there are many of them), I wanted to check out a Las Vegas wedding venue that is a little more unique, the Neon Museum. About 15 minutes off of the strip, the Neon Museum is where old neon signs go to die or as I like to think of it, where they are reborn.
The Neon museum is made up of these huge old neon signs that belonged to old Las Vegas hotels and other businesses. While I didn’t get see the entire boneyard, what I saw was super interesting and lots of fun. Now, I know I’m talking about the Neon museum as a wedding venue, but it’s also just a cool museum that anyone would enjoy. You get a bit of history and it’s a different Las Vegas experience than just the big hotels, clubs, gambling tables and strippers. The next time you’re in Vegas, you should totally check it out.
Now back to weddings. The Neon museum has a perfect little open area where you can have dinner, dancing along with a few prime spots for a wedding ceremony (with some great backdrops). You’ll be surrounded by these awesome signs with some of them even lighting up at night.
What I love about this Las Vegas wedding venue is that not only is it different, but it has so much history. Even the property it sits on has a history. And it is just so cool looking! I mean, if you’re going to have a Las Vegas destination wedding, this is the place. It’s such a unique spot that your wedding guests will totally love exploring (yes you can add a tour to your wedding) and it will give them an experience they can’t get anywhere else. It’s Las Vegas, but fun, funky and very cool. And come on, just imagine all the awesome photos you’ll get!
And what happens in Vegas….
