Celebrating International Women’s Day

Today is international women’s day where we celebrate the achievement of women.  Being a woman, I’m always cheering for my fellow ladies.  Let’s just say it, we are awesome and we have so much to give.  It’s the truth.  Women are amazing not just for our ability to be mothers, but because we are smart, creative, passionate and successful.

When I was young, I was a big reader (I still am) and my nose was always in a book.  I remember there was a time when I was a little obsessed with Susan B. Anthony after reading about her.  Susan B. Anthony fought for women’s rights and the suffrage movement, women’s right to vote.  When women actually got the right to vote in 1920 (after she died), the amendment was named after her.  I remember thinking how amazing this woman must have been and how I would have loved to have met her.  I’m sure she was ridiculed, ignored and made fun of, but she persevered.  She stood up and fought for us and for what she believed in and kept fighting her whole life.  She is amazing to me.  But, you don’t have to be fighting a huge fight to be amazing.  I know so many amazing women, from the many female entrepreneurs I’ve met and befriended over the years to my loving award winning mother to my creative sisters.  Women are amazing not just today, but every day and we’re only getting more so.  So, happy international women’s day to all you awesome women in the world. Hear us ROAR.
