On the 5th Day of Joy – Smell the Roses
Today is our 5th Day of Joy. You’re really starting to feel it now, aren’t you? The joy is just flowing right through you, I can tell. Well, we’re only going to continue to build on that joy today.
On the fifth day of Christmas, Mango Muse Events gave to me…
The Gift of Flowers
Ah, flowers. Everyone likes flowers, but working on your wedding flowers can be a different story. Maybe you know what you like and maybe you don’t, maybe you know what you want and maybe you don’t. It doesn’t matter whether you’re DIYing your flowers or working with a floral designer you’ll have to figure out not only what type of flowers you like, but the style, color, and arrangement. Instead of spending hours on Pinterest looking at lots of blush colored flowers, get out of the house and make flowers joyful again because there is nothing like seeing and touching them in person.
Head to your local farmer’s market, flower market (if you have one in your city), flower shop, or plant store (if you don’t want cut flowers) and walk amongst the beauties and see what speaks to you. Literally stop and smell the roses! Ask questions and jot down what you like. It could be a shape, a color or type of flower. What you see may or may not be in season during your wedding, but it will at least give you an idea of what you gravitate toward and help direct what your florals should look like. And for you couples who think you know what you want, take a gander anyway. You may surprise yourself and find something you like even better than that picture you’ve been hoarding. Like with anything, seeing flowers in person can be different and really change what you think of them. Once you’ve gotten your fill of flowers, at the end of your excursion buy yourself a bouquet or two so you can bring some joy home as well.
