Wedding Tip from the Pros: With outdoor weddings, batten down the hatches

Everyone loves an outdoor wedding, but with outdoor weddings comes the elements and in particular, the wind.  Don’t ever forget the wind because it can turn your best ideas to dust.

Make sure to do a walk through of the venue and see what the wind is like before you finalize the design for your tables and decor. You may need to rethink items like tall glass centerpieces or figure out ways to weigh down lighter paper items like seating cards, menus, and table numbers.

And if you decide to go with a potentially iffy idea, have a backup plan in case it doesn’t work on the day of.

These postcard seating cards were meant to be displayed on strings, but the wind was so gusty on the wedding day, we had to resort to plan B and keep them in a nice box instead.
