Every year the de Young museum in San Francisco has it’s annual Bouquets to Art exhibit where they invite floral designers of different trades to create a floral piece inspired by a work of art in the museum. It’s always so interesting to see what art pieces they choose as their muse and how they interpret the piece. The art is always fun to see and the floral pieces are amazing. The Bouquets to Art 2015 was no exception and I, of course, had some personal favorites below.
The exhibit started off in the main area with what I dubbed,”The big C”. A large suspended C with a combo of flowers and what looked like straws.
Some artists created a more literal interpretation of the art piece and amazingly mimicked the details whether in shape or detail or color.
And other artists created their floral pieces more around the feeling of the art and were able to evoke the emotion in their design.
Super amazing, right? I love what these artists did and the art they created for the Bouquets to Art 2015 exhibition. There were many more amazing pieces, but these were a small selection of some of my favorites. Hope you enjoyed it! Till next year…
