What is Romance?

Valentine’s day is synonymous with romantic gestures.  When you think of the word romance, it probably conjures up images of candlelight, rose petals, moonlit walks and poetry. Or perhaps a cheesy novel with a scantily clad woman being held by a Fabio lookalike.  Or maybe a grand gesture and sweeping someone off their feet.  But, romance means different things to different people.  To me, romance is a love affair with a person.  That love is an emotional bond that connects you and makes you want to make them happy.

This is one of my favorite photos of me and my husband on our wedding day.  It’s not sexy or beautiful, but it’s more a sign of love than anything else.  It’s my soon to be husband feeding me (he’s feeding me fries!).  He’s making sure I eat and that I’m happy.  How more romantic do you get than that?  On this coming Valentine’s Day, romance your valentine your way.
