Wedding Wednesdays Q&A: Who Pays for Hair and Makeup Services?
Hello, Everyone! I hope you’ve been having a good week and are as excited as I am for our Wedding Wednesdays Q&A. This week we’re talking about hair and makeup: I recently hired a hair and makeup artist for my wedding for myself and my bridesmaids. But, I’m wondering am I supposed to pay for all the girls? Or do they pay for their own services? What is the normal procedure here?
Good question! So first off, if you are requiring your bridesmaids to get their hair and makeup done or you want them to have a certain hairstyle or look, then I suggest that you pay for their services. It’s nice to cover it since you are the one requesting it. If you aren’t requiring anything specific, then you can offer the option to your girls and have them pay for whatever services they decide they want.
Now regardless of whether you require the girls to have a certain look or not, you can certainly pay for their services anyway. I actually think it’s a nice gesture to cover the services as a thank you for everything they’ve done and are doing for you. It ensures that your girls will look nice (and feel nice) which only makes the day that much happier for everyone and will also make sure everyone looks good in photos. So, it’s a nice thing to do if you can swing it. But, if you can’t, then it is totally ok to have them pay for their own services. Just make sure to be upfront about the pricing and options so they can make an educated decision.
