Are you surviving the week? We hope so! And to help get you over the hump, we’ve got a new Wedding Wednesdays Q&A to share. This week we’re talking about a late marriage: I’ve been with my partner for over 15 years. We live together and have 2 kids. We never got married because it wasn’t important to us, but we’ve decided recently that we do want to be married. But, since we’ve been together for so long and we’re not young, is it weird if we want to do a full blown wedding? Is that inappropriate given our age and where we are in life?
First off, congrats on being together for 15 years! Even if you aren’t married, that is a long time to commit to one another and you guys should celebrate that love. So, why not have the wedding you want? Don’t worry about your age or what people will think of you. Do it your way! Just because you have a family and are a little older, you should still be able to celebrate your marriage and your love in whatever way is happy for you. And if that is doing a full blown wedding, then I say go for it.
You can do as little or as much as you want, as long as it’s your wedding. I’m certain your family and friends will support you and will be happy to celebrate your long-awaited wedding with you. So, go have some fun planning your wedding and have a great time!
