Book Lover Keeping the Real Alive
There are so many great things to share and since I have so much to choose from, I find myself sharing whatever fits my mood and this week is no exception. If you didn’t know this about me, I’m a total book lover. I read so much that when I was a kid I wanted to be a librarian. Some kids want to be a firefighter or an astronaut, but I wanted to be a librarian. I love books, absolutely love them. I love the stories but I also love the physical feel and touch of books. I love turning the pages and the weight (i.e. I do not own a Kindle). I am not what you’d call a modern digital girl. Even while I sit here writing this blog post, I’d trade my computer in for a book any day. And while our tech-filled digital world provides us so much, I honestly fear for the loss of the real. Real conversations with people in person, real books and words, real experiences. Those things are to be treasured and loved for they are beautiful.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently and at the same time I came across this great store, Book/Shop who has taken the beauty of reading a book and turned it into an experience. This is a shot of their shop and their beliefs which I believe in as well. They are helping to keep books alive and I hope they never die. Book lover for life!
