I’ve had such a creative week this week and can’t wait to share it with you! With all the design I create for weddings, I need to be able to express my designs to my clients, especially when it’s a custom creation. I’m not the best at drawing, so I just spent 2 days this week learning how to sketch, creating 3D images and playing with watercolor. It was hard work, but super rewarding. At the end of the day, I was amazed at what I learned and what I can now do. If you are a creative professional or would just love to learn how to sketch, this amazing new workshop The Sketchbook Series is being taught by a friend of mine, Mary Phan from Very Merry Events. She’s super talented and the class is super fun. Check out some of the creations I made from the workshop.
My first sketch of a real cake designed by Alison of Pretty Please Bakeshop.
My second sketch of a real floral arrangement by Nancy of Nancy Liu Chin.
And a work in progress of a watercolor ranunculus.
Not bad huh? I still have more to learn, but I’m pretty proud of myself and I’m hoping to only get better! If this seems up your alley and you’re interested in learning too, Mary is doing another Sketchbook series in Sacramento in March, just click here for tickets. Have fun and be creative!
