Wedding Wednesdays Q&A: Wedding Dress Shopping

Wedding Wednesdays Q&A by Jamie Chang Destination Wedding Planner of Mango Muse Events

It’s time for our Wedding Wednesdays Q&A, where we answer your most pressing wedding planning questions.  Since we’re in fashion mode, this week we’re talking about wedding dress shopping.

Q: My wedding is more than a year away, but I’m super excited to start looking for my wedding dress.  Is it too soon to start shopping?

Absolutely not!  Picking a wedding dress can sometimes take a while to find, so starting early is never a bad idea.  And once you do find that perfect dress, you have to order it and that turnaround time can be quite long sometimes (i.e. 6 months or more).  Wedding dresses, like all fashion has seasonal lines, so starting early means you get to see more and have more options.

I always recommend that my brides start wedding dress shopping as early as possible, so that they give themselves time to really find something they like and not feel pressured.  Because we all know that shopping under pressure never turns out well.  So, go forth and search for your dress!  Do your research, take your time and enjoy the process.  It’s a special dress for special day and you want to love it.
