2014 SAG Awards Wedding Inspiration
We kicked off award season’s red carpet inspiration with the Golden Globes and this week we’re sharing our 2014 SAG Awards wedding inspiration picks. By the way, that abbreviation is pretty unfortunate. It’s like the iPad, which I’m sorry just sounds like a maxi pad. But, I digress so let’s get back to what we’re talking about today.
We checked out the red carpet for some fashion inspiration for your wedding or event and picked out our faves which were definitely not SAGgy. This year there seemed to be a theme going on which was simple silhouettes, but each with some type of interesting detail whether it be a color, texture or accent. Check out our picks below and get inspired!
We’re starting off the red carpet inspiration with a red dress. Elisabeth Moss hit our radar again in this red Michael Kors that was stunning. Classic, but a beautiful color and added interest with the black band. This could totally work for a wedding gown or bridesmaids dress.
This sparkly and sheer Vionnet number Claire Danes wears is kind of awesome. A simple shape, but lots of interesting detail. I see lots of fun event design ideas from this one working not only with the diamonds, but the blue shimmer and sheer draping.
Gretchen Mol takes a bit of a chance in this white J. Mendel dress, but I think it totally works. The mixture of casual with sexy is really fun and very California cool. This would be a great wedding dress option for a more casual bride. And check out her hair and makeup! It’s totally beautiful. You could easily steal this beauty look for your wedding.
Oh Amy Adams. I love her. And she looks amazing in this royal blue Antonio Berardi dress. The neckline and shoulder detail is awesome. Now while her dress might not be something everyone could rock, her hair is super fun especially for you retro brides.
I know this one got mixed reviews, but I find Julie Bowen’s Carolina Herrera dress just so interesting. The optical illusion, the fun pop of orange and the neckline all works for me. Simple shape with lots of fun details. I’m imagining some very cool tablescapes with this one.
Emilia Clarke also shows up here again, this time in a champagne Calvin Klein. The color is great, the one shoulder is wonderful, but my favorite part? Her hair! I love it and it would be amazing on a bride! Someone steal this and do it!
This gal does color so well. Lupita Nyong’o in this aqua Gucci is such a fun pop especially in contrast to the red carpet. The flower detail is also beautiful and I could totally see it in a wedding design as an accent.
Pink is not one of my favorite colors, but this soft pink Givenchy halter gown with sparkly detail looks just stunning on Cate Blanchett. Not just fun color inspiration, but a different halter style for your wedding fashion.
Our last pick is Anna Gunn in a wonderfully simple beaded Navy Monique Lhuillier gown. The fit is perfect and it makes her look like a million bucks. Sometimes all you need with your wedding attire, is something that fits well.
But the best part…wait for it…was this awesome Breaking Bad clutch! Haha! Love it. Personalization is always the way to go, never fail.
