2014 Golden Globes Wedding Inspiration

Did you watch the Golden Globes this past weekend?  We enjoy the awards, but we enjoy the red carpet fashion even better.  Every year we love checking out what people are wearing because it’s such great inspiration for both weddings and events.  So come, pull up a chair and check out our 2014 Golden Globe wedding inspiration picks.

First off is Lizzie Caplan in this geometric gold and black Emilio Pucci dress.  The cutouts, chevron pattern, and opaque sleeves are just so fun and I can totally see this inspiring a wedding design.  Imagine using this pattern in your wedding stationery or on your wedding tables.  Love it!

Now check out this red-orange Ralph Lauren dress on Lupita Nyong’o.  Not only is the shade beautiful in contrast with her skin tone, but the shape is great.  This would be a great alternative option for a bride’s wedding dress.  The cape and dress are great and I can totally see this in white.  The color is also amazing and would be a great pick as a part of your wedding colors.

And then there is the lovely Cate Blanchett.  Always a risk taker, this Armani Prive is both elegant and daring.  I’m loving the artistic neckline.  This is another great pattern idea for your wedding design for your table linens.

It’s all about the texture in this Proenza Schouler dress worn beautifully by Emilia Clarke, and we love us some texture.  I can totally see a bride rocking this as a wedding dress, can’t you?

Who says you can’t be gorgeous while pregnant?  Olivia Wilde does a baby bump and Gucci green totally right.  If you’re a pregnant bride, take some cues from Olivia.  Pick a shade that works with your coloring and rock your beautiful body.  And let’s not forget her makeup, it’s spot on and would look great on a bride or bridesmaids.

Don’t forget about prints!  Allison Williams sure didn’t. This McQueen zebra stripe dress is super fun, modern and fresh.  This would make a great bridesmaid dress, it’s so much fun.  I can also see this influencing a modern yet artistic wedding design as well.

So, I know this Dior Haute Couture wasn’t a favorite for some, but I enjoyed Emma Watson’s outfit.  It was different, colorful, surprising, and her hair and makeup was gorgeous.  Simple, but so pretty.  Check out the close up below.  Great inspiration for your wedding hair and makeup.

I am loving everything about Elisabeth Moss in this red and black J Mendel beauty – the shapes, the color, her hair and the accessories.  It’s fun, chic and just plain cool.  If you’re going for geometric in your wedding, consider doing something like this in your wedding design.

And last, but not least Robin Wright.  So, I love Robin Wright, ever since The Princess Bride.  But, have you seen her in House of Cards?  She’s amazing and so deserved the win.  She totally rocks this Reem Acra halter – sleek and sexy.  This is another dress I could totally see on a bride or bridesmaids.  And her hair!  What can I say, love.  It’s a great styled pixie cut for all your short hair gals.
