Inspiration Mondays: Memorial Day

As you know, Mango Muse Events is a wedding planning company, but if you’ve been following our blog you know that we talk about more than just weddings and events.  The world is much bigger than weddings and events and it all affects our lives, so we talk about everything from the inspiration we come across to our thoughts on things happening in the world.

Today is a holiday for US citizens as we remember all those who have fought and died for our country.  We honor the brave men and women who have and continue to risk their lives to protect us.  I cannot imagine the strength and courage it takes, but am so thankful.  While today is a day to honor these patriots and everything they’ve done, I am sad that they had to die at all.  I’m not a political person and I’m sure I don’t understand all the intricacies of the world, but I long for the day where killing one another is no longer “necessary”.  There is enough killing and death that happens from other things (like the tornado in Oklahoma), do we really need to actively fight each other?  Can the world be at peace?  I really truly hope so.
