Q: I’m starting to look for my wedding dress and I’m kind of liking a colored wedding dress. Do I have to wear a white wedding dress?
Absolutely not! While it will always be traditional to have a white wedding gown, you definitely don’t have to keep with this tradition. You could wear an ivory or champagne colored dress or go totally different and pick a green or red or black wedding dress or any other color you want! In my opinion, almost all wedding rules can (and sometimes should) be broken, so get the dress you feel beautiful in whether that is a colored wedding dress or not. It doesn’t matter what the color is and I personally love a fun colored wedding dress. It’s another way you can express your style and personality. Just look at Jessica Biel who got married in a pink Giambattista Valli dress for her destination wedding.

In addition, you don’t even have to get married in a true wedding dress from a bridal gown store. You can buy something in a clothing store or reinvent something vintage. And to go even farther, you don’t even have to wear a dress if you don’t want to. The rules no longer apply, so do what feels right for you and pick the dress/outfit you love and want to be married in. As long as you feel beautiful in what you’re wearing, that is all that matters.
