2013 Oscars Wedding Fashion Inspiration
All the awards shows we’ve covered have lead up to the biggie, the Oscars. I, unfortunately, couldn’t watch it live because I was wrapping up our amazing Beyond Blu Bungalow tours on Sunday (I’ll share some of this soon), but I had to share our favorite picks from the red carpet. Below are our Oscars wedding fashion inspiration picks including some favorite dresses and also some great hair and makeup inspiration for your wedding and/or upcoming event.
First up are the sleek dresses with metallic detailing that all had a little 1920s/art deco feeling to me. They are beautiful and figure flattering. We liked them all, so we couldn’t pick just one. I love how elongating this Versace is on Halle Berry and I think it would work well on many ladies. The stripes and curves are lovely and can totally be used for your wedding design.
Sandra’s Elie Saab dress is soft and more romantic. This one has some lace detailing which is beautiful, but I also love the top’s slight cap sleeve. It’s not a shape many brides pick, but I’m a fan and it could be a great look for you or your bridesmaids.
This Naeem Khan dress is opulent and I can totally see this inspiring your wedding stationery and design. And let’s not forget Stacy’s hair as well. It’s totally glam and would work great for a bride or bridesmaids.
While Jessica’s Armani Prive gown isn’t black like the first 3 ladies, her champagne frock fits perfectly with the theme and looks very old Hollywood. I love the chevron V shape and the color is great. You could totally rock this as your wedding dress or use it in your wedding design.
Next up are the lighter colored dresses each with their own distinct bridal feel. Totally different styles, but crisp and elegant. Jennifer’s Dior Haute Couture dress automatically screams bridal gown to me. It shows off her curves and has great texture. Just be careful walking on steps!
Charlize’s Dior Couture gown takes advantage of the peplum craze and fits her beautifully. With the train and great neckline, I can easily imagine a bride rocking this. And the short hair? Love.
Amy flutters in this soft gray Oscar de la Renta. Although this is no small dress, the style looks light as a feather. With the amazing detailing, this would be a knockout bridal gown and especially fun since it’s not white.
Amanda’s Alexander McQueen dress also has a bridal vibe to it. The organic feeling with the leaf detail work is stunning and would be amazing for a wedding. And I don’t know about you, but this also has a slight Cheong sam feeling to it as well and I can imagine a Chinese bride really digging it.
And our two final dresses, that don’t fit into a theme, but that we loved anyway. Jennifer’s raspberry Gucci was fun especially from the back. I’m loving the color in particular. Not red and not purple, but a nice blend. Perhaps a color to consider for your wedding?
This glittery Armani Prive on Naomi is stunning. The cutout is daring and the color just shines. I’m also a fan of her hair – just a slightly messy updo. Something you could easily do for your wedding.
