10 Honeymoon Spots to Enjoy After Your Destination Wedding

10 Honeymoon spots to enjoy after your destination wedding

Do you ever come back from vacation and think, I could use a vacation from my vacation?

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.  I feel exactly the same way, especially after a busy, activity-filled trip.

Your destination wedding is a vacation to some degree, but a busy one.  You’re traveling somewhere and planning all of these fun events.  And while you’ll have an amazing time, after the wedding, you’ll want a vacation.  And guess what?  You have the perfect excuse to take one, your honeymoon!

Not everyone takes a honeymoon right after their wedding, but I think it’s a great idea.  It gives you a chance to relax and spend time together.  It gives you a chance to savor your new marriage.  And because you like to travel, it also gives you a chance to experience somewhere new.

While you certainly can fly to another state or country, it’s not necessary.  You don’t have to go far to get away and have some romantic alone time (away from your guests).   Here are 10 honeymoon spots to enjoy after your destination wedding.

If you’re having your wedding in Maui, Hawaii….

Head to Kauai for your honeymoon

Island hopping at it’s best, Kauai is just a short flight away from Maui.  This lush island is super easy to get to.  While it is another Hawaiian island, it has a much different feel than the more populated Maui and an even chiller vibe.

If you’re having your wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico….

Head to Riviera Nayarit for your honeymoon

The stretch of Riviera Nayarit is filled with peaceful beaches, small towns, and fishing villages.  Just a short drive away, you can explore lots of beautiful spots all along the coast.

Head to Salt Cay for your honeymoon

Turks and Caicos are made up of 40 islands.  You’ll most likely be in Providenciales for your destination wedding, so hit up Salt Cay for a true, laid back island experience.  This small island is called the “island that time forgot”.  That pretty much says it all.
