Love at the Grammys and Grammy Wedding Inspiration

Did you watch the Grammys?  There were definitely some great looks and of course some great performances.  We are going to share our favorite red carpet picks in a moment, but first, we have to give it up for all the couples who got married in the mass ceremony.  Not only was it amazingly cool, but so touching.  Love is love and 34 straight and same-sex couples shared their love to a pretty amazing soundtrack.  It’s not something you’ll forget and I love that about it.

So, on to the fashion!  There were some awesome frocks on the carpet and we picked the stand outs and our Grammy wedding inspiration picks for your wedding or event.  First up are the sheer numbers which were a trend on the carpet and while there were a bunch of them, we particularly liked these two…

Beyonce in her sheer Michael Costello number had such a fun print. Part lace, part floral, part exotic, this print was exciting and is something I could totally see being used in an event.

Kacey Musgraves in this sweet Armani Prive is dainty with it’s ruffles is great, but the sheer and glittery effect that shows off her tattoo is spunky too. This is proof that you can be pretty and gritty all at the same time, you don’t have to be stuck in a box.  If you have tattoos don’t be afraid to show them off at your wedding.

Taylor Swift looked stunning in this Gucci champagne colored gown.  The color was great and the style reminded us of Gretchen Mol’s white dress.  The casual top (sheer again!) makes it just a little more fun.  And I’m loving her hair and makeup – a cute side swept ponytail and dramatic eyes are totally steal-able for your wedding.

We love prints because it keeps things interesting and this Vivienne Westwood that Foxes is rocking is totally that.  Off the shoulder, fun and not too serious.  Weddings don’t always have to be prim and proper, throw some fun in there whether that be in your wedding design or your wedding attire.

And the pregnant women win again!  Reminiscent of Olivia Wilde, Ciara is a beauty in this intricate gold Emilio Pucci.  She’s glowing in more ways than one.  I also love this rose gold/copper color which you can totally use in your wedding as the star color or a lovely supporting color.

Anna Kendrick in this Azzaro is just sexy all the way.  I love the color as well – a soft grey/off white.  Maybe not exactly the right look for a wedding, but don’t be afraid to be sexy at your wedding.

So, usually, men don’t make it on my list because frankly they usually don’t impress.  But, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, while not my type of music, totally went for it and succeeded.  It’s interesting without looking crazy.  They do print and color proud.  A lesson for men that you don’t always have to stick to classic black.
